As you’ll see, not everything is done yet. There are some new wallpapers, but older stuff hasn’t been put online just yet. Over the next few weeks I will continue to add galleries and posters and everything that the site had before, while updating it with new goodies. Thanks for waiting, guys!

Why Flair, Why?

Author: Dez [Webmaster] Category: Uncategorized

Monday
Nov 2, 2009

I just had to put this up and make a statement on how utterly disappointing this must be for everyone in WWE and those who truly respect what the company did for Ric Flair. In this very recent video, Ric Flair cuts a promo on returning to the ring to face his ‘age-old nemesis’ Hulk Hogan on the Hulkamania Tour in Australia. Sure, it’s like a dream come true for old-school wrestling fans and those who enjoyed WCW but lets face facts; this is Ric Flair saying “I really am the dirtiest player in the game.”

Not only that, he’s also saying he’d trade in the sendoff given to him by WWE for more time in the spotlight and the payroll that comes with it; only it won’t be anywhere near a WWE ring. While Ric Flair can always cut a great promo, just look at the settings, the background, the quality of it all. This is a man that was given the ultimate spotlight / sendoff at WrestleMania 24 in a match against arguably the greatest in-ring performer of all time; Shawn Michaels, and he throws it all away for some extra money and main-event time?

Ok, so I understand he has financial issues. I know he’s going through a lot. And it’s obvious that this is desperation taking its toll on The Nature Boy but seriously, join TNA if you must! Become a manager there, manage new stars, play a role where you create a grand stable. I have nothing against this Hulkamania Tour and it must be a joy for the Australian fans who are going to see it live, but to me this looks like Ric Flair giving WWE the low-blow and then some. Ric Flair was decorated and made into an ‘immortal’ by WWE and I’m sure he could repay them by doing better. Some say he was ‘forced’ into retirement. That’s a lil’ crazy. WWE gives Mae Young occasional screentime; Ric Flair’s like a teenager compared to her so why would they force a legend who can still work in the ring into retirement? For the WrestleMania 24 spotlight, or to promote a big comeback years down the road? Doesn’t really make much sense. Ric Flair wasn’t forced into anything.

Anyway, enough of my ranting. It isn’t going to change anything. Hey, I’m a Flair fan myself. I’d love to see him back in WWE. I emphasize WWE…on their terms. Well, I guess we can say goodbye to the Flair that we all knew. I’m sure this isn’t going to sit well with WWE or Vince McMahon. Ric Flair arrogantly brushing off the 10-timers and 13-timers is only going to make WWE give Triple H (or John Cena) that title a lot more to make either one of them a 17 or 18 or 19 time champion for all I know…thus ending the ‘glorious reigns’ of Ric ‘The Nature Boy’ Flair.

I don’t care what Triple H or Shawn Michaels or Batista have to say about “loving to see Ric wrestle again” and “it’s truly up to him”, I’m sure deep down they’re all disappointed. Heck, they brought The Undertaker out of character just to shake hands with Ric Flair in the ring the day of his retirement. And they never do that. For those who are happy that Flair is coming back, I have nothing against you at all. It’s all good. To me, this is just something I did not want to see.

PS : That backdrop is really, really cheap-looking. Really Ric, join TNA! They can definitely do you better!

Unchained Site Status + Site Crash!

Author: Dez [Webmaster] Category: Site Status

Monday
Nov 2, 2009

Yeah, I didn’t expect the renovation to take this long but I guess stuff happens sometimes. Anyway, good news and bad news.

Let’s go with the bad news first. Unchained Wrestling Wallpapers was almost complete a couple of days ago when suddenly everything came to a screeching halt when the entire site crashed. Don’t ask me how or why, it just did. The site would have been opened by now if it hadn’t been for that, but now I’m stuck re-building it. That’s the bad news.

Good news is that I have a lot of backups and settings saved so re-building won’t take too long…but it’s already longer than expected, so bear with me. I’m aiming to make Unchained-WWE.com better than it ever was with more functions and features; but using a new platform just has its ups and downs in the beginning stages. So yes, bear with me while I try to quickly rebuild the site using whatever backup I have. It will take a lil’ longer, but at least I’ll know (and you’ll know) it’s a better website in the end.

More good news is that I’ve planned a number of new wallpapers to go up the moment the site is online again, so I’m hoping everything goes smoothly in that direction. Maybe a bunch of other updates as well.
Keep checkin’ back for updates, guys! Thanks for waiting. :)

PS : As for the Bragging Rights wallpaper, it will be fixed and fully uploaded when Unchained Wrestling Wallpapers reopens.

WWE Bragging Rights Wallpaper | Updated!

WWEBraggingRights_thumb

Sure, Bragging Rights is less than 24hours away and this is really last minute stuff, but who knew WWE would change their superstars on a Friday show before a Sunday event? Of course, spoilers were out but that’s a different story. And I’m currently very busy with developing a revamped Unchained Wrestling Wallpapers. Anyway, here’s the updated wallpaper featuring the almost-fully-new SmackDown! team. At least this team has some ring experience on their collective resume…unlike  Escobar and Drew McIntyre (new talent, sure, but too fresh to represent a brand they’ve done relatively nothing for so far).

WWE Bragging Rights 2009

Here’s the wallpaper for WWE’s new conceptual PPV, Bragging Rights, which makes it debut this Sunday on Pay-Per-View. The PPV looks interesting enough with a massive 7-versus-7 Raw vs. SmackDown! acting as the show’s main event. What confuses me is that Survivor Series is only about a month away and what’s a traditional 10-Man Tag Team Match compared to a huge 14-Man Interbrand Tag-Team battle for ultimate brand supremacy? Only thing I can think of is that the 7-on-7 ends with all superstars from Raw and SmackDown! invading the ring and the show ending with an all-out no contest brawl.

Even more interesting is the fact that this could be John Cena’s last night as a Raw superstar. I have a feeling he’s heading over to SmackDown! for the time being. Should be interesting to see how all this unravels. I’m almost certain that either Undertaker will retain his championship at Bragging Rights OR Batista will be crowned the new champion. I would have preferred a singles match between ‘Taker and CM Punk, though. And of course there’s the ‘Dirt Sheet’ match between Morrison and Miz. I’m sorry to say this but Morrison is on a much faster (and more successful) road to superstardom. Anyway, download the wallpaper for WWE Bragging Rights and decorate your screens!

Final WWE Bragging Rights Poster

Author: Dez [Webmaster] Category: Uncategorized

Tuesday
Oct 13, 2009

braggingrightsposter_2009completeHere’s the latest (and safely proclaimed final) version of the poster for one of this year’s brand new [conceptual] PPVs, WWE Bragging Rights. According to what we just learnt this past RAW, the main event of the show will be a colossal 7-versus-7 Raw vs. SmackDown! tag-team battle. Wow. Talk about epic. Degeneration X leads the red team while Chris Jericho is captain of the blue brand. I would’ve actually preferred to see the guys on the poster represent their brands. I even thought John Cena was going to join the team instead of Cody Rhodes, lose to Orton before the 7-0n-7, and then cost Raw the win by delivering the FU…*cough, cough*…I mean Attitude Adjustment to DX and the rest since he’ll be, by that time, a SmackDown! superstar. I guess WWE didn’t see that working out to well.

Anyway, here’s the new poster for Bragging Rights featuring some very incredible superstars. This version looks much more complete than the ones before.

[ Thanks to NME for the heads-up.]

Where Have The Wallpapers Gone?

Author: Dez [Webmaster] Category: Site Status

Sunday
Oct 11, 2009

Technically, they haven’t gone anywhere. They’re just not up for download right now because this blog is Unchained-WWE’s “maintenance mode” website. Since Unchained-WWE is getting a facelift at the moment and cannot be accessed, this is where I will post essential updates such as the WWE Bragging Rights matchcard wallpaper. Will there be updates other than the Bragging Rights wallpaper? Most probably. That being said, I’m working hard on getting Unchained Wrestling Wallpapers up and running again as soon as possible, so that’s kinda’ like the main priority right now.

What happens to all the old wallpapers when Unchained Wrestling Wallpapers returns? The answer is they’ll be up for download again, just as before, each and every one of them with no changes whatsoever.

If anyone bumps into new PPV posters across the internet, don’t forget to give me the heads-up because that’s another thing I’ll update on this blog, as you can see on your left. So bear with me while I rebuild Unchained Wrestling Wallpapers and keep checking back here for those mentioned updates. :)

The ‘temporary Unchained-WWE.com’.

Author: Dez [Webmaster] Category: Site Status

Friday
Oct 9, 2009

Hey all. You probably noticed the temporary site closure due to a massive renovation process. And it’s all because of that damn DX! ;)

Hopefully the renovation process won’t take too long and Unchained Wrestling Wallpapers should be up and running again in no time. Until then, this is where I’ll post minor updates about the site status and some new stuff that you can expect from the site.

But most importantly, you’ll be able to download the new WWE Bragging Rights wallpaper once its done. I figured since there hasn’t been a break in PPV wallpapers for nearly two years now, why let a renovation process stop the flow?

So keep checkin’ back for updates and to see if Unchained Wrestling Wallpapers is back online. If all goes well, it shouldn’t take too long. Any important updates will be posted on this blog. Due to some issues, you won’t be able to download any old wallpapers until the new site is fully functional, so apologies for the inconvenience.

New PPV Posters

Survivor Series 2009.SURVIVOR SERIES. Here's an awesome poster for this year's Survivor Series feat. Degeneration X in an all-out war! This poster is (in my opinion) one of the best this year so far. It's original, it's new, and it's very scenic(?). I'm hoping for a huge inter-brand 10-Man tag this year. Survivor Series is always fun. Thanks to Burak, Irfan, Frank, & David Cena for the heads-up.

26_tickets .WRESTLEMANIA 26. This isn't really the poster for the event itself but rather an announcement poster for ticket sales. Still, it's a WrestleMania poster and one can only imagine how epic it's going to be next year from 'the desert'. We're inching closer to this grand spectacle day by day! Thanks to David F and Ebrahim M for the heads-up.

2009_complete.BRAGGING RIGHTS. Here's the new and updated poster (as opposed to the wallpaper) for WWE Bragging Rights. I'm not sure why WWE would have a main event that resembles Survivor Series so closely but that's the creative team at work again, folks. Thanks to David F, Elias, NME & Mufadal for the heads-up. Thanks to David F, Elias, NME & Mufadal for the heads-up.

braggingrightsposter_2009complete.BRAGGING RIGHTS. Here's the final version of the poster for WWE Bragging Rights, featuring a colossal collision between the superstars of RAW and SmackDown! for the titular prize; the rights to brag about sweet dominance over the other brand. This final version looks much more complete that the previous ones. A massive 7-on-7 sounds awesome...but you gotta' wonder, what does it make of Survivor Series? Thanks to NME for the heads-up.
